Lacquer (lacquer.beauty) is an online booking service for nail salons, operated by Onyx Tech LLC, a California limited liability company, at 815 Maple St, Santa Monica, CA 90405. This policy covers Lacquer: its website, its booking pages, and the booking tools AI assistants use.
What we collect when you book
Your name and mobile number, the salon, the services and the time you choose. We don't ask you to create an account or a password, and we don't take payment; you pay the salon.
What we collect when you browse
- Which salon pages you open and how you arrived (the referring website and any campaign tags in the link), so salons can see which links bring customers.
- Your browser keeps a copy of your own bookings on your device, so you can check in when you arrive. It removes them 24 hours after the appointment.
- If something breaks, an error report with technical details about the page. Error reports don't include your IP address, and booking links are removed from them.
When an AI assistant books for you
Assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can search salons and book through Lacquer for you. We receive only what the assistant sends to our booking tools: the search (a city, ZIP code or salon name), the service and time, and, when it books, your name and mobile number. We note the assistant's name on the booking, for example “Booked by Claude”. We don't receive or keep the rest of your conversation.
To keep the service working, we log each request the assistant makes: which tool, the place or salon searched, whether it worked, and how long it took. These logs never contain your name or phone number.
How we use it
- To make your booking and let the salon see who is coming and when.
- To text you a confirmation with a link to your booking, and reminders before it.
- To check that a phone number is real before booking, which stops fake bookings.
- To find and fix problems, and to understand how people find salons.
We don't sell your information and don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- The salon you book with: your name, phone number and booking.
- Companies that run Lacquer for us, each only to provide its service: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Twilio (text messages and phone-number checks) and Sentry (error reports).
- Anyone we are legally required to, such as a court order.
How long we keep it
- Bookings: 4 years after the appointment date, so salons keep their records and we can show the texts you agreed to. After that we remove your name and phone number; the salon keeps an anonymous record of the visit.
- Request logs from AI assistants: 30 days.
Your choices
- To cancel or change a booking, call the salon. Its number is in your confirmation text.
- To stop texts, reply STOP to any message from Lacquer. Reply START to turn them back on.
- To see, correct or delete your information, email support@onyxtech.info. We answer within 30 days. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we extend them to everyone.
Children
Lacquer isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
