Lacquer for AI assistants
Last updated October 15, 2026
Lacquer is the online booking system nail salons across the US use. Its MCP server lets an AI assistant find a salon, read its menu, prices and hours, check real open times, and book an appointment for the person it's helping. There's no account and no sign-in, the same as booking on this website.

An assistant uses them in this order:
find_salonsRead-onlySalons by US city and state or 5-digit ZIP, optionally narrowed by name. Up to 20 per call with the total that match; page with offset. Salons that take online bookings come first, Lacquer partner salons (marked) first within that; otherwise the order changes daily and says nothing about quality.
Inputs: city, state, zip, name, limit, offset
get_salonRead-onlyA salon's address, phone, weekly hours and full menu: each service's service_id, price, duration and category.
Inputs: slug
check_availabilityRead-onlyOpen start times for one service, any technician, in the salon's local time, for up to 7 days from a date.
Inputs: slug, service_id, date, days
book_appointmentBooksBooks a time returned by check_availability. The salon holds it and the customer gets a confirmation text with a link to the booking. Retrying the same call returns the same booking.
Inputs: slug, service_id, start_at, customer_name, customer_phone, agent_name
Try asking
- “Book me a gel manicure in Santa Monica tomorrow afternoon.”
- “What does Montana Nails in Santa Monica charge for a pedicure, and how long does it take?”
- “Find a nail salon near 90402 that's open Sunday and has a slot after 4 pm.”
- “Is there a full set available this Saturday morning at a salon in Los Angeles?”
How bookings work
- Bookings are real. Most are confirmed at once and the salon holds the time; at a salon that confirms its own bookings, the result says “requested” and the salon confirms by text.
- The assistant reads the salon, service, price, local time, name and phone back to the person and gets their yes before booking.
- Only for the person it's acting for, with their own name and mobile number. The salon sees “Booked by” and the assistant's name.
- Bookings can't be cancelled or changed online, by the assistant or the customer. The customer calls the salon; the booking result includes the number.
- Lacquer takes no payment. The customer pays the salon.
- To stop fake bookings, phone numbers are checked before booking, and there are daily limits on bookings per phone number and per salon. A refused booking says why, with the salon's booking page so the person can book themselves.
Test it
Book at Lacquer Demo Salonin Santa Monica, CA (search for it by name: “Find Lacquer Demo Salon in Santa Monica, CA”). It's open every day 9 am to 9 pm with three services. A test booking there texts only the number you give; no appointment takes place and no salon is contacted.
Privacy and support
Lacquer receives only what the assistant sends to these tools, never the rest of the conversation, and its request logs never contain the customer's name or phone. See the Privacy Policy and Terms.
